Why a series on the life of Christ? 

Jesus tells us in Mat 28:19-20 to  “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you; and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.” 

For many believers, “to go therefore,” means simply to invite somebody to go to church.  End of subject.  Let our pastor and Sunday School teachers take care of any real “ministry” issues. 

Guess what?  I don’t think Jesus was speaking only to his inner circle of disciples.  I think He was speaking also to us!  WE are to go forth; WE are to teach all He taught us; WE are to observe all things He commanded!  Scripture is filled with instructions on this important issue: 

Ephesians 5:1-2 says we are to “be imitators of God…(live) a life of love, just as Christ loved us.”

Romans 12:2 tells us, "do not be conformed to the pattern of this world...be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Philipians 2:1‑11  urges us to be "united with Christ;  like minded with Christ...(having) the attitude of Christ."

Luke 8:10, Jesus says, “Knowledge of the secrets of Heaven are given to you…”

And Ephesians 2: 8 tells that God has “works prepared in advance” for us. 

But for many of us, we continue to feel inadequate; unequipped, and the problem then becomes:  HOW DO  I "DO" THIS MINISTRY THING? 

I think they best way we begin to transform our minds, to conform to the mind of Christ, is to learn something from the earthly life of Jesus.  So, what is contained on this page is a sermon series I put together a few years ago on the “The Life and Ministry of Jesus.”  Foolishly, I thought I could get it done in a mere 12 to 15 sermons.  Over 52 sermons later it was finally completed, and I offer it to you now for your instruction and edification! 

The study was compiled chronologically.  Feel free to read them that way, or simply choose one at random. I think you'll learn something either way.  When you study Jesus, He can teach you something at any place in His life (and at any place in yours!)
